1024 W. Hays Street

This project involved remodeling and adding to a 100-year-old home with historic status, more than doubling its size from 1,800 to 4,200 square feet. Bringing the structure up to modern living standards—which required navigating Boise’s historic approval process through multiple city department reviews—required a careful touch.

The whole home was lifted to create a usable basement level. New square footage was added at the rear and on the second floor. The result seamlessly blends old and new through a thoughtful mix of colors and materials, creating a unique, welcoming series of spaces that honor the home’s heritage while meeting contemporary needs.
