To renovate this 3,000 square-foot, single-family home, we addressed the outdated windows, which included semi-arched windows that were older and poorly maintained. More energy-efficient, “low-e” windows were installed on the west-facing side to reduce solar heat gain in the afternoons, and insulation was added throughout. We also renovated the basement with a sophisticated color palette: an exposed ceiling finished in matte black, light gray concrete floors, and crisp white walls.
